What is so special about East Valley Echoes?

by Barb Schumacher, ACG

Toastmasters is Toastmasters, right? We follow the same guidelines and rules. We all know the words in our club’s mission statement ring true – our members DO provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

So what’s so special about East Valley Echoes Toastmasters Club? Why would you want to visit them? Their meetings begin at the oddest time – 6:15 in the morning! Holy Moley!

Yes, that’s very true. That sounds just plain awful. I invite you to consider visiting East Valley Echoes Toastmasters, however, because this is a special club. They do fun things you might not experience elsewhere, and I’ll bet a bagel that you’ll have a wonderful time.

Have you ever been to a Backwards Meeting? How about a Celebrity Talk Show Meeting? Or a Mini-Mock Trial Meeting? A Progressive-Dinner meeting? Do you know what the Toastmaster On The Move is? Does your club have a joint-club meeting opportunity?

East Valley Echoes does these things, and more, interspersed with regular, fun-filled meetings.

OK, so it starts really early in the morn. Guess what? You only need to get up one half hour earlier than you normally would anyway; that’s not so difficult is it? You also get out at 7:30, so you can still be at work on time. It’s only once a week.

Just think, "what a pick-me-up Toastmasters truly is". You get a lot of fun mixed in with your educational and leadership growth that helps you at home, at work, and at play. You start your day at work in a happy mood. You look forward to next week’s meeting because you had fun.

East Valley Echoes is a small group so you’ll have the opportunity to speak more often and get that Competent Communicator manual completed.  We meet every Wednesday morning at 6:15 sharp.  See you there!

Oh…if you’re not a Toastmaster and just thinking about it, you are most welcome to visit us. There’s no charge, and we would love to meet you. Be prepared to have a good time.
